Job Description

Shriners Hospitals for Children - Galveston is the leader in the fields of acute burn injury treatment and rehabilitation.  We are seeking a Unit Secretary  two shifts per week from 7 p.m. - 7 a.m.  for our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).

The Unit Secretary may perform a wide variety of duties that include:

  • provides critical communication activities for the inpatient unit
  • responsible for answering phones, directing communications, registering patients in the computer, maintaining patient information 
  • transports specimens and procures needed supplies, medication and blood products

**the position available schedule is night shift (2 shifts per week, 7 p.m. - 7 a.m.)

Job Requirements

Requirements include:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required  
  • 3+ years Unit Clerk/Secretary experience required
  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
