Title: Patient Access Representative – Rehab Scheduling


Department: Revenue Cycle


Location: Portland, OR


Hours: Full Time


Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00-4:30


 


Job Summary


Shriners Hospitals for Children – Portland is seeking a Patient Access Representative to join our team! This position is responsible for Rehabilitation Clinic scheduling.  


 


Responsibilities:


  • Schedule established patients for specialty multi-disciplinary pediatric orthopedic rehabilitation clinic appointments

  • Knowledge of insurances and ability to verify

  • Provide excellent customer service to physicians, patients, and other hospital staff

  • Real-time phone coverage for completion of scheduling appointments


  • Accurately maintain patient data, insurance information, and other pertinent information

  • Assist with financial counseling functions for Uninsured patients


Job Requirements


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


  • Clinic scheduling experience in a multi-disciplinary medical setting

  • General understanding of orthopedic conditions (pediatric experience preferred)

  • Excellent customer service skills over phone and in person

  • Patient database experience with Cerner, Epic, etc.

  • Ability to listen and communicate effectively in diverse situations

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Medical terminology (preferred)

  • HIPAA knowledge and proven compliance

  • Multi-line phone

  • Bilingual—English/Spanish (preferred)
