Job Description

Responsible for the preparation of “Made to Order” quick serve grill and deli meals for the patients, employees and visitors, and requisitioning of ingredients for next day's menu as assigned by the Executive Chef.

  • Prepares luncheon grill specials, panini, deli salads, catered deli trays, breakfast omelets, fried eggs, breakfast sandwiches, potatoes, bacon, sausage, muffins, etc. fresh daily in a palatable and safe manner according to HACCP procedures. 

  • Opens Café on weekdays. Turns on appliances, makes entry to temperature logs, starts coffee, sets up cafeteria with continental breakfast, prepares patients breakfast and slices cold cuts. 

  • Prepares food in accordance with established recipes. Multitasks and uses batch cooking to insure meals are served to patients and employees in a timely manner. 

  • Responsible for ensuring proper food safety using HACCP procedures. Understands fundamental food allergens.  Able to verbally advise and/or communicate to customers on ingredients in recipes being prepared.

Job Requirements

High School Diploma and or GED General Studies Required.

2 years plus Institutional or Quick Serve Cooking Required.

Bi-lingual; Spanish/English strongly preferred

This is a weekday position,  6:00AM to 2:30PM;  occasional evenings and weekends for special events.
