Job Summary:

Shriners Hospitals for Children - Portland is seeking a full-time Director of Fiscal Services to join our team! The Director of Fiscal Services is responsible for the effective management of the financial operations of our Portland hospital including the oversight of the Finance Office and Revenue Cycle functions. This position is responsible for the sound management of fiscal controls and the monitoring of performance against budget in accordance with the SHC standards. Duties are performed with a high degree of confidentiality and independence in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, revenue cycle best practices, guidelines and policies from the International Shrine Headquarters, hospital policies and procedures, state and federal regulations.

Job Requirements


  • Experience providing senior-level Fiscal Services and Revenue Cycle management direction in a healthcare setting is required
  • Minimum 10 years of accounting experience is required
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Must be able to simultaneously manage multiple tasks and be able to prioritize by levels of importance and urgency
  • Proficient computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be able to work on complex problems and provide solutions
  • Extensive knowledge of local, state, and federal laws
  • Must be able to work with only general direction, and provide direction and guidance to others 
  • Excellent organization skills and maintain attention to detail while often under difficult deadlines
  • Must be able to handle information with confidentiality and sensitivity
  • Excellent analytical skills, judgement, and innovative thinking
