Job Summary:


Shriners Hospitals for Children – Portland is seeking a 1.0 FTE Clinical Research Coordinator to join our team! This position is responsible for coordinating multi-center investigator-initiated research studies in musculoskeletal disorders. This position is also responsible for coordinating industry-sponsored clinical trials of new investigational drugs for neuromuscular diseases (i.e., Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy) within the Clinical Research Department. This position requires working closing with pediatric orthopedists and neurologists, clinical evaluators, study monitors, collaborating site personnel, and multiple hospital departments within SHC and OHSU.


 


Responsibilities:


The Clinical Research Coordinator is involved in recruitment, screening and consenting of participants, coordinating the research activities of the participants, overseeing accurate and timely data collection, and entry of data into specific electronic databases and national registries. The Coordinator ensures that studies are conducted in compliance with federal, state and institutional guidelines, reporting and documenting protocol deviations and adverse outcomes. Additional roles include working closely with the primary investigator to perform systematic literature reviews, data analysis, abstract and manuscript preparation.  This position requires good communication skills, flexibility, and an enjoyment of working with children and families.

Job Requirements

 Job Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Ability to coordinate multi-site studies

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at one time

  • Attention to details

  • Proficient with Windows and PC applications (Excel, Word)

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers

Preferred

  • Master’s degree

  • Experience performing statistics and preparing abstracts/manuscripts

  • Experience preparing IRB submissions

  • Experience working in orthopedics

  • Pediatric experience

  • Previous work experience in a hospital setting with direct patient contact
