Shriners Hospitals for Children - Salt Lake City is currently hiring a part t ime Staff Education Coordinator Nurse to work 4 days out of the week, No weekends . The Staff Education Coordinator enhances professional practice and the provision of quality patient care by providing evidence-based quality educational programs and activities that promote professional competency for nursing, inter-professional, and non-licensed clinical staff at the assigned facility.
Professional Development: Follows an organized process to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate professional development programs for staff members that meet the organization's strategies and goals. Conducts educational needs assessments; documents and reports findings. Develops and delivers high quality, cost effective educational programs with content that is evidence based, follows standards of care and standards of practice,
Program Management: Partners with nursing leadership to develop an evidence-based orientation, training, and competency assessment program for new hired, transferring, and incumbent employees.
·Leader/Change Agent: Understands healthcare issues and systematically analyzes change initiatives. Differentiates between performance/systems issues versus development needs.
Hospital Wide Education
- Education activities are planned and an education calendar is developed and distributed annually. In-service offerings are posted in monthly newsletter. Coordinates EAT.
AHA Training Center Coordinator
- Complies with AHA requirements to maintain Training Center Status. Maintains correct Training Center Faculty Card and BLS/PALS instructor status. Supervises in house CPR/PALS instructors, maintains instructor records and training equipment.
Ed. Needs Assessment
- Consults and works with departments to identify education needs and coordinate education activities. Develops special programs and learning activities based on identified needs.
Competency Assessment
- Demonstrates knowledge and ability to assist in the development and maintenance of a hospital wide competency assessment program.
Staff Education Resources
- Identifies, assesses and develops staff education resources to maintain and develop staff knowledge and competency levels.
SHINE (Net Learning)
- Functions as primary Learning Administrator for SHINE system. Ensures learning modules are updated and created to meet required learning needs of the organization.
