SOCIAL WORKER
The Social Worker is responsible for working effectively with other health care members to provide Care Coordination of the patient and family from the implementation of the intake process to discharge from the Shriners Hospital system. Knowledge and skill in the case management process is pertinent. Active networking is required with community agencies, physicians, schools, etc. to help develop medical, financial and psychosocial resources for our patients and families. The Social Worker provides psychosocial support, crisis intervention and psychotherapy for our patients and families.
This position requires understanding of common ethical and legal issues in social work practice in health care settings including biopsychosocial–spiritual assessments, use of the strengths perspective, client and family engagement in all aspects of social work intervention, and case management/ care management/ care coordination/ health care navigation.
