Shriners Hospitals for Children® Pasadena is currently seeking to hire a Staff RN for our Outpatient Clinic.
The Staff RN is an integral member of the Ambulatory Services team in our Outpatient Clinic. The RN is accountable for coordinating the care for pediatric patients with orthopedic, burn, reconstructive plastic and rehabilitation conditions. Candidate works as an advocate for patient and families in a collaborative effort with the multidisciplinary team. Works to achieve quality outcomes using a family centered care philosophy. Candidate complies with the American Nurses Association (ANA) standards and exercises professional, legal, and ethical judgment in the coordination of patient care. The RN provides leadership and supervision for supportive clinical personnel including LVN, Medical Assistants, Student nurses, and volunteers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Conducts an individualized nursing assessment using clinical knowledge and professional judgment to assist in determining the degree of coordination requirements. Provides direct patient care within the clinic setting in accordance with scope of practice and established SCMC outpatient guidelines.
Implements the nursing plan of care using age appropriate intervention strategies. Applies technical, cognitive, interpersonal skills to ensure that established goals are accomplished.
Implements the nursing process utilizing established SCMC standards, policies and procedures.
Demonstrates open, accurate and timely communication with patients, families and interdisciplinary team members to ensure effective therapeutic interventions.
Maintains competency, adheres to standards of practice, recognizes own learning needs to maximize professional development and optimal nursing practice.
Expectations regarding policies and procedures of department, hospital and professional interaction.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma required.
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing strongly preferred.
Minimum three (3) years outpatient experience required.
Current California Registered Nursing License. In good standing required.
Current BLS certification required.
Current ACLS certification required.
Current PALS certification required.
Pediatric, orthopedic, burn, or rehabilitation environment experience preferred.
