Referral Center Assistant
Shriners Hospitals for Children Northern California, the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury and pediatric subspecialties medical center, has an opportunity for a Department Assistant to join our Referral Center team.
This part time position performs a variety of functions related to the prompt and accurate processing of all hospital Application for Treatment (AFT), patient referrals. Appointment scheduling, and inpatient hospital admission processes. Manage large amounts of inbound and outbound calls in a timely manner. Serves as a liaison between all referral sources and the hospital concerning the referral process, and functions as a resource to staff and the general public regarding assigned areas of responsibilities.

Strong phone and verbal communication skills along with active listening, ability to multi-task, set priorities and manage time effectively. Requires proficient knowledge in IBM compatible computer systems, (ie., MS Windows, Word, Excel etc.). Experience working in a health care environment desired. Ability to speak Spanish preferred.
