Job Summary:

Physician Assistant, Pediatric Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery (Pasadena, CA)

Shriners for Children Medical Center’s Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Department is seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant for clinical and OR duties. SCMC is a nonprofit specialty medical center providing comprehensive medical, surgical, and rehabilitative care to children up to age 18 with a variety of orthopedic conditions, burn injuries, cleft lip and palate and other facial deformities.

Duties include, but are not limited to, clinical management, H&P interviews, patient education, pre- and post-op visits, laser procedures, wound checks, suture & drain removal, first or second surgical assist, care liaison. This full-time position is Monday-Friday and does not involve call or overnight shifts. The role is highly autonomous and requires a hardworking, motivated practitioner who is able to function independently and as an effective member of the plastic surgery team. Our ideal candidate is compassionate about our mission to treat local and international children who may otherwise not receive care.


  • • Certification: Physician Assistant, National Commission
  • • Current CA Physician Assistant License
  • • Billing Number: NPI – National Provider Identifier
  • • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or within 30 days)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • • One year experience as Physician Assistant in surgical specialty, preferably plastic surgery

    • Leadership and organizational skills

    • Problem solving and decision-making ability

    • DEA License

    • Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred
