The Performance Reporting Analyst – Physician Enterprise analyzes and provides quantitative and qualitative results, detailed performance improvement data and financial reports available from the various Decision Support and Financial databases, as well as the general ledger. Proper justification, sourcing, methodology and / or theory must be present and demonstrated in all reporting. The Performance Reporting Analyst will be an expert user on all modules of the Financial and Decision Support information systems. Expertise includes all daily, biweekly, monthly, and year-end system maintenance, detailed knowledge of all data elements, and comprehensive report writing skills. The Performance Reporting Analyst demonstrates ability to analyze customer problems, analyze and present appropriate data, recommend new and/or modified procedures and facilitate implementation, and is instrumental in assisting leadership with information to make key business decisions. The ideal candidate is responsible for interpretation of contract management results and independent decision-making regarding changes to monthly results, and works with and serves as a backup to all functions with Analytics Team.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Financial and Decision Support systems. 33%
    • Produces and distributes regular reports from the Financial and Decision Support systems, including but not limited to physician statistics, quality stats, practice financials, resource, utilization, productivity, patient referrals, comparative data, payor reports, market share and various ad hoc reports.
    • Assists the physician and hospital group in the analysis of data available to Finance.
    • Attains expert knowledge of the Financial and Decision Support systems, including all maintenance, data download routines, report writing/query procedures and knowledge of all data elements available.
    • Educates and trains various levels of practice staff on the use of Financial and Decision Support information and tools.
    • Identifies client organization’s strengths and weaknesses and identifies areas of improvement.
    • Applies mathematical analysis to determine the validity and reliability of statistical data.
    • Strong understanding and appreciation for the automation of Revenue Cycle functions.
    • Identifies trend root causes and report findings through independent decision-making.
    • Manages and updates to MedeAnalytics and validates adjustments made.
    • Trouble shoots and supports interface reconciliation between systems.
  • Statistical Reporting 33%
    • Prepares statistical reports submitted to Administration.
    • Provides accurate and timely financial data analysis and reports to assist management in decision-making process.
    • Exercises independent decision making regarding assigned facilities monthly Revenue Cycle performance
    • Qualitative and quantitative original research on a variety of topics and special projects as assigned.
    • Provides data dashboards to manage performance.
    • Analyzes data and determines action plans necessary through independent decision-making and problem solving.

    • Exercises independent decision making regarding assigned facilities monthly allowance calculations
    • Responsible for building and maintaining system calculations for anomalies as they are identified
    • Create and analyze financial impacts of monthly allowances. Serve as a liaison to facilities
    • Complete accurate and timely data to process reimbursement correctly each month and to analyze and resolve payment variances.
    • Must have excellent business judgement, decision making and business savvy regarding impacts to assigned facilities
    • Responsible for reconciliation of interface between systems

THE QUALIFIED CANDIDATE WILL HAVE EXPERIENCE IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

  • 5 or more years of related experience in a healthcare environment required
  • Experience with data warehouse reporting required
  • Experience in Advanced Excel required
  • Experience working in MS Office Databases and Suites required
  • Experience in Cerner, MedeAnalytics, MedAssets, Monarch and/or other mainframe database downloads preferred
  • Power BI experience preferred
  • 5 or more years of related experience in a multi-hospital environment preferred

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED/PREFERRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in related field (e.g., mathematics, statistics, computer programming, database management, information systems, business management, accounting or appropriate field of study)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have strong analytical and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office.
