The Human Resources Specialist assists in the planning, implementation and management of HR functions under the direction of the Human Resources Manager. Performs technical and clerical support including, but not limited to the areas of employment, creating and revision job descriptions and evaluations in the performance evaluation system (Halogen), updating HRIS system, benefits administration, coordinating volunteer program, reviewing and updating reports, forms and policies, and acting as a resource for managers and staff, recordkeeping and other duties, as requested. Provides administrative support to the Human Resources Manager, as well as Joint Commission readiness for HR Standards.

  • Coordinates New Hire Process and conducts New Employee Orientation program

  • Responsible for employee benefit education, enrollment and counseling

  • Coordinates absence management processes and recordkeeping

  • Coordinates employee status change process ensuring accuracy and compliance to the policy

  • Supports Annual Evaluation Program and Organizational Development and Training

  • Regulatory and Compliance

  • Special Projects and Other Duties

Additional Knowledge and Skills

Requires ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to concentrate and remain detail-oriented. Able to meet required deadlines despite dealing with continual interruptions and the ability to manage constantly changing priorities in a dynamic work environment. Must be able to work effectively in a team-based environment. Must remain professional during emotional situations and adapt to a variety of new and sensitive situations and responsibilities in an appropriate and positive manner. Able to learn new information and put knowledge into practice.

Must be able to interpret and apply human resources policies to workplace situations. Requires experience in handling employment related issues and a thorough understanding of federal and state employment law, compensation and benefits administration.

Education –

Bachelor in Human Resources or Related Field Required

Master’s in Human Resources or Related Field Preferred

Experience –

2 Years of Human Resources Experience Required

2 Years of Experience in Hospital or Healthcare Human Resources Preferred
