Motion Analysis Lab

Shriners Hospitals for Children Northern California, the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury and pediatric subspecialties medical center, has a full time opportunity for an Engineer in our Motion Analysis Lab.




Position Responsibilities Include:

To develop software for clinical analysis and research projects. To provide technical support of the measuring and computing equipment in the lab, including quality checks and software updates. To assist with the development of new measurement and analysis services as warranted by patient care needs in the Hospital. To provide technical support for approved research projects. To provide education in areas of expertise to hospital staff, residents, and the general public in appropriate forums, and to act as a resource to staff, patients, families and the general public regarding assigned areas of responsibilities.

MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge of:

  • Matlab coding required; experience with Visual 3D preferred
  • Mechanical engineering; coursework in statics and dynamics; preferred knowledge of biomechanics
  • Knowledge of Windows EXCEL and ACCESS or other database software
  • Preferred experience in human performance or motion analysis laboratory

 

B.S. in mechanical engineering or computer science preferred.
