Job Description


Shriners Medical Center - Pasadena is looking for a per diem and a part-time Physical Therapist.


·    The position provides evaluation and therapy services, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transition of care, in an efficient, age-appropriate, and culturally sensitive manner upon licensed independent practitioner referral.


·     Provides comprehensive compliant and safe clinical care demonstrating the philosophy of family centered care, a commitment to the achievement of optimal patient outcomes in alignment with the standards of practice of their professional organization.


·      Works with medical staff and the multidisciplinary team to design and implement individualized plans of care to meet the needs of the pediatric patients and their family.


·     Supports the ongoing development and improvement of the department through participation in special projects, performance improvement and facility committees. Responsible for professional growth and development through ongoing education and research in alignment with hospital’s patient care and strategic direction.


·    Responsible for maintaining current knowledge in changes related to scope of practice, coding/billing practices, compliant documentation and any other knowledge related to the compliant practice in a revenue cycle environment. In cooperation with other local leaders, offers exceptional care following the Shriners Hospitals for Children® FOCUSED © ™ Program, a system-wide model for professional practice that stresses and emphasizes patient-centered care, or always putting the needs of the patients (and their families) first.

Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited program (minimum requirement)

 

Experience

  • Previous clinical experience in pediatrics, orthopedics, spinal cord injury and burns preferred.
  • 1 year of PT practice experience (required)

 

Certification AND Licensure

  • Licensed in state of California (required)
  • BLS upon hire

 

Additional Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities in working with children at various levels of care.
  • Ability to work independently, work within a multidisciplinary treatment team, and collaborate and/or coordinate services with team members.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to interact effectively and sensitively with children and families of different developmental levels and cultural backgrounds.
