Job Description

 

The Manager of Performance Improvement/Risk Management is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and coordinating the hospital’s Performance Improvement/Risk Management Programs. Assures that appropriate care and services are administered to our patients and their families and promotes a safe environment for patients, families, visitors, staff and others who work within the hospital. This effort is implemented through the following areas: TJC Readiness for continued accreditation, coordination of the Hospital Performance Improvement Plan and Risk Management, Ensuring Regulatory Compliance, Patient Care Monitoring utilizing indicators developed by the Medical Staff and Occurrence Reporting, Policy and Procedure administration, Safety Event administration, acts as Safety Officer, Manages Environment of Care and Emergency Preparedness.


Job Requirements

Responsibilities include all aspects of employee management, addressing and resolving regulatory and safety concerns, and actively overseeing and managing production and quality control efforts.

Implement and support all corporate and local PI initiatives and activities.

 

 Specifications:     (Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)

  • Degreed Health Care Professional or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required.
  • Knowledge of Performance Improvement, Risk Management practices and regulatory requirements.

  • Must possess analytical and problem solving skills as well as the ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of hospital personnel, members of the Medical Staff and members of the business community.

  • One year of direct supervisory experience in the health care setting preferred.

  • Three years of experience in the health care setting with at least two years in the area of Health Care Performance Improvement, Risk Management preferred.

  • Certification in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred

  • Experience in small to mid-size hospitals

  • Experience in project management

  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills required; excellent business judgment and decision making are also essential.

  • Experience working collaboratively with IT, Business and Clinical Operations are important.

  • Knowledge of applied statistics, process analysis, and outcomes analysis.
