Job Description


We are looking for a qualified candidate to fulfill the position of the Community Relations Coordinator/ Physician Liaison. This role is critical within the organization and the candidate must have a positive attitude with excellent people skills. Solid knowledge in SoCal healthcare market and the intermediate to advanced Excel skills (or has the ability to learn fast) are required. This role will assist the medical center to implement various campaigns and to improve customer satisfaction with the medical professionals, hospitals and other organizations or individuals that have direct input on the referral of patients. S/he needs to be a team player and has the ability to learn fast, and is expected to hit the ground running ASAP. Experience in event planning and bi-lingual in another language is highly desired. Candidate who has existing contacts within the SoCal medical community, health plans, and/or outreach experience (preferably in the healthcare industry) will be considered first. The person in this role must be self-directed, motivated and be organized with strong analytical and problem solving skills. Bachelor’s degree is required and at least 2 years of direct work experience in Marketing or Provider Relations preferred. Previous marketing experience in the healthcare industry is a plus.


Position Summary:


The Community Relations Coordinator/Physician Liaison will support the Director of Community Relations & Business Development in executing strategies to increase patient referrals from all service areas, promoting service lines via various marketing tactics, and the individual will assist in developing and maintaining positive community relationships, managing projects that assist the medical center to enhance market share, and liaising internally and externally; a positive attitude with demonstrated strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including the ability to make effective presentations are required. S/he will establish and cultivate the relationships within the local medical community to promote Shriners for Children Medical Center Pasadena service lines. The Community Relations Coordinator/Physician Liaison will also assist the Director in liaising internally and externally, flawless people skill is required.



Job Requirements


1). visit assigned referring physicians’ offices to establish and maintain active partnerships in the community;


2). work with the MarCom team to create patient acquisition marketing materials. The basic sales and marketing knowledge is required (preferably in healthcare);


3) responsible to track all new patient referrals, prepare outreach materials for the director when needed, keep the referral database updated, and is expected to run reports by using the internal data management software;


4). conduct researches and reports as assigned;


5). responsible to assist the Director in liaising among various departments internally and community healthcare providers externally; must have excellent people skills and is able to solve the problems under minimum supervision.  The person in this position needs to be pro-active in all aspects, and able to communicate well both internally and externally.


6). Assist in event planning and execution.
