Job Description

The Clinical Analyst functions as a clinical and technical resource in a variety of capacities. The analyst is accountable for planning,


organizing, coordinating and controlling information technology in clinical areas, while ensuring compatibility with other clinic/hospital


information systems. Activities include the development, implementation, training and support of clinical information systems, and the


interface / integration to other new or existing systems. The analyst develops and implements policies / procedures that guide and


support information technology in the clinical areas. Many of the job tasks cross interdepartmental lines, both at the clinic and corporate


level. Additional duties for this position will evolve along with the implementation of new Clinical Information Systems into the clinic.





Job Requirements

Clinical Information Systems





• Develops, implements and provides training and support for clinical information systems.




• Integrates/Interfaces with new and existing systems.


• Acts as liaison between clinical and technical department staff.


• Participates in the planning and coordination of end user training.



CLINIC LIAISON/ TEAM LEAD





*Functions as liaison between Headquarters and Clinic Project teams, keeping each informed of current project


status information and developments.


*Functions as liaison between clinical personnel and technical staff, keeping each group informed of current project


status information and developments.


*Works with local clinic and headquarters teams to develop site-specific testing, training, and conversion plans.


*Participates in all major data, functions, and technology decisions made by department teams to understand user


needs, and communicates decisions to clinical and technical project team members.


*Participates in the planning and coordination of user training programs.


*Facilitates clear and timely communication of the SHCIS project to SHC staff via participation on the IS Steering


Committee, serving as facilitator as directed.


*Provides informative presentation and education to clinic teams as invited.


*Functions as Team Lead during system and procedure design phases of the project.



COMMUNICATION - Provides clear, effective communication to clinic staff, headquarters, and project


teams





*Works diligently with clinical personnel and technical staff to implement new projects.


*Communicates effectively at all levels from senior management to end-users through utilization of critical thinking


(problem solving, creating, decision-making) skills.


*Assists in all major data, functional, and technological decisions made by the departmental teams to understand


users needs and effectively communicate them to both the clinical and project team members.


*Provides projects and timelines to hospital leadership, team leaders, and Director of MIS.


*Documents project progress and outstanding issues to local leadership, as well as project team.


*Assists with the development and implementation of policies and procedures used to guide and support


information technology in clinical areas.



Report Writing





*Meets with the decision makers and end users to define reports then develops and implements operational


clinical/business reports within the clinic.
