As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will be a team member who fully embraces a family-center model of care delivery.

 

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Escorts patient/family to exam room/ancillary departments.
  • Prepares patient for exam or procedure (e.g. gown, shorts, casting needs).
  • Assists RN's and physicians in cast removal and application procedures.
  • Assists physicians while examining patients when RN's are unavailable.
  • Prepares exam rooms daily and assigns physician rooms to reflect daily schedule.
  • Ensures exam and cast rooms are adequately stocked.
  • Monitors refrigerator temperatures daily and reports variances to Maintenance.
  • Demonstrates the ability to plan and organize work properly, to establish priorities and allocate time and effort in accordance with priorities.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently, to anticipate needs and to appropriately take action, within the scope of a medical assistant.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate must be a high school graduate and must be certified by the Commonwealth of PA as a Certified Medical Assistant. 

 

Additional requirements include:

 

  • Basic Life Support certification
  • One-year experience in a medical office and /or hospital setting
  • Competent in computer related skills
  • Pediatric patient care, orthopaedic and/or casting experience preferred.
  • Strong team member skills and embrace a family-centered model of care delivery.
