Temporary Part-time Medical Laboratory Technologist
Be a part of our team at this premiere pediatric specialty hospital as a Temporary, Part-time Medical Laboratory Technologist.
Position Overview:
The Technologist is responsible for processing patient specimens for bacterial and mycotic growth for identification and antibiotic susceptibility. Tests for antibiotic serum levels. Performs quality control testing as well as environmental culturing.
Responsibilities :
- Performs/Understands testing procedures of the Bacteriology Laboratory
- Processes patient specimens following protocol for the isolation, identification and sensitivity testing.
- Proficient with the laboratory computer database.
- Operates the TDX analyzer; performs maintenance checks, replaces instruments when needed.
- Assists in maintaining laboratory inventory.
- Maintains departmental files/paper work.
1-2 years of Bacteriology Laboratory testing experience; American Society Clinical Pathologist (ASCP) certification preferred. Able to meet Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA) standards.
Work Schedule: 24 hours per week, two 8 hour weekdays, the two days are flexible, 4 hours every Saturday and Sunday, the weekend hours are flexible hours.
